Certificate of Competence (CoC) knowledge recognised through new Mining Administration Qualifications
Another new suite of National Qualifications for the Extractives Industry have been developed in order to recognize the knowledge of CoC achievers. The Mining Administration Qualifications were developed as a mirror to the CoC requirements, but provide the trainee with formal recognition of their achievement. Follow the links to the NZQA website for a full list of units required.
*NOTE* These National Qualifications are NOT substitutes for the CoC’s. Applicants are still required to meet the additional requirements as detailed in the Gazette Notice of CoC Work Experience Requirements under the Health and Safety in Employment Mining Administration Regulations 1996.
The Mining Administration Qualifications are;
1535 National Certification in Extractive Industries (Mining Administration B Grade Tunnel Manager) (Level 5) with an optional strand in Coal Mine Deputy.
