At the April board meeting Brian Bouzaid was elected as the new EXITO board chairman. EXITO would like to welcome Brian and we look forward to working with him and the board over the coming year. Previous board chairman, Ray Urquhart, has remained on the board as a member, and continues to share his knowledge and expertise.
To introduce you to Brian, below is a short biography;
Brian Bouzaid works for Holcim (New Zealand) Ltd as their Wellington based operations manager responsible for Kiwi Point Quarry and Martinborough Sand & Gravel.
He has worked within the Extractive Industries (Quarrying, Waste Collections, Recycling, Landfilling, Green Waste Compositing and Bio-Solids) for over 30 years including quarrying operations in Western Samoa.
Brian’s governance experience includes past President of the Institute of Quarrying and past Chairman of the MinEx Health & Safety Council and two prior terms on the EXITO board.
Brian attributes his success to industry training. "I started my extractive career at a coastal quarry, picking sea-weed from a conveyor belt before being offered the opportunity to undertake training and gain qualifications".
Brian has received many industry awards for his work within the extractive industries and holds an A-Grade Quarry Managers Certificate.
In 2008 Brian was awarded an Honorary Fellowship from the Institute of Quarrying.
