3,024 people in the mining and quarrying industry in NZ are undertaking training with EXITO. That’s a lot and you probably don’t even realise that mines and quarries are all over New Zealand and that is because in most cases you can’t see them as they are hiding behind hills or trees. There could be one near your place. There are as many job opportunities here in NZ as there are overseas.
Gold, silver, coal, rock, sand, gravel, lime stone, iron sand, clay, and pumice are mined and quarried in New Zealand.

Modern Apprenticeship and National Qualifications?
To qualify for a Modern Apprenticeship you must be 16-21 years old and already working in the industry.
As a Modern Apprentice you will learn on the job as you are working. There will be occasions when you have to undertake off the job training. You will have a training coordinator/mentor to support you and put together a quarterly training plan for you to work towards.
